I am very green at this but while I was out knocking on doors I have found 2 vacant homes in Arlington. I have tried TAD but for some reason I can't even find the property. I have had no luck in finding the owner to try and get a wholesale property. There are batements on the propery and the city was no help. Looking for some assistance if anyone is a good detective. Feel free to contact me 817-422-1312.

We're making some progress on this Danny, but I'll see if I can get phone numbers and/or email addresses for those people that we found yesterday! Hopefully this can turn in to a deal for you! Stay tuned!

There are a few ways to find owners of vacant houses.  One quick idea is to put a "We Buy Houses" sign in the front yard to see if the owner will call you when he/she sees it.  I've found owners of vacants that way before.  After you calm them down and apologize for putting the sign in their yard, they might just be open to selling the house.

In addition to the other suggestions already given you can also go knock on ALL of the neighbors doors around the house, introduce yourself and say something like this "HI my name is Tim.  I have some money for the owner of the property next door.  Do you know by chance how I can contact them?"  More than likely if they know how to reach them they will call them.  Be sure to give them two business cards.  One for the person you are speaking with and one for the owner of the property.  I also highly recommend you let that person know that you buy houses and ask them if they by chance know of anyone needing to sell a house.

You can also hire a skiptracer.  They specialize in tracking down owners.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the extra ideas. Tim, I did knock on the surrounding neighbors and no one seems to know where they are or have a number. I also left my business cards with them just in case they saw someone come back to the house.

Danny, it has been great messaging you privately! I have had no further luck on my end... I think that the above ideas are solid. You may do a Facebook search or intellus search to find relatives... Once you do that, maybe send letters... I had a similar situation with a house in Las Colinas and I mailed letters, sent FB messages and did a lot of work just to come up empty (I never located the owner)... Beyond that, there were several liens on the property as well so this deal just wasn't meant to be....

Good luck w/ this and I'll see if there is anything else I can find!
