Well, this topic took a circuitous route to get back to the original queries. Thanks to all responders who stuck to them. As an update, - Replacement vertical blind slats can be found at Home Depot - less than $12 for nine, cut to order.
- All that was required to repair the oven door was the front glass. Installed price - under $150. I'll keep my oven, thank you.
- Have done all manner of cleaning to address the pervasive layer of cigarette tar/dust, most of which involved being detail oriented; had one room painted (a complete redo was not an option as per the OP); did all the usual paint touchups throughout including the garage; resulting in no one but me being offended by the smell in the house now.
- Received a deposit yesterday and will execute lease tomorrow (non-standard I know, but they wanted to give me the money!)
